Bargain hammer set, quality German brand

I've just bought a set of these, they are an absolute bargain. Made by Geodore in Germany. Don't know how many more sets there are so be quick !
Got mine for £14.50 against one other bidder.

They look good value for money, just wondered why the smallest hammer costs nearly twice the price for half the weight?

500H-200g £56.84 list
500H-800g £30.41
500H-600g £26.34

There's a typo there, the most expensive is the largest at 2000g, not 200.
Don't know where they do get those list prices though, but at the price I paid it's Chinese money for German quality ! BTW, the heads are marked "chrome vanadium".

Be carefull...i bought a set of large metric drills on a Morse Taper2 marked as German made,not from the same buyer mind but from Ebay...they turned out to be more Chinese than a Chop suey

it dont matter where they say there made german or british or otherwise look at the name on em 1st. if it isnt there dont buy and if u take a punt it works both ways

Oh yes !! Serious bargains don't happen very often but it's good when they do !
About 4 yeras ago there was a guy selling off a load of surplus stock Stahlwille sockets, 1/2 and 3/8 torx driver and hex key drivers, on ebay. He was combining a selection of different sizes in lots. About 30 items per lot. At retail they would have cost about £300, they were fetching between £30 and £60 depending on who and how many were bidding on a given day. I filled my boots !! Even better they were local to me and when I collected them he showed my the vast amount he had to clear. There were literally tons of them and when I bought mine he'd already been selling them for over a year !
All gone now though.

They are typical german general engineers hammers, I had a couple given to me by a german customer, personally I never liked them and sold them on, they didn't seem to have the right kind of feel about them, I always thought they wouldn't look out of place in the coal bucket.

Exactly that, and for sheet metal a collection of nice planishers and slappers, hammers are quite personal things and to get good results should feel like an extension of your hand, If it doesn't feel right it will show in the job, or will just make you tired. mind you if you whack your thumb they all feel the same!.

The hammers, or the Germans?! Not what it's cracked up to be German engineering

I wondered if they might be for some special function - not just for braying summat!

A bit like foreign shovels I guess, one of those arrow shaped things with a straight shaft and no 'T' handle on the end would take some getting used to.
