nooo old folk in the war used to say if it was rubbish it was gerry built . rough and in a hurry wether it was true or not i dont know. probably not look it up on google

Well 'Jerry Can'...apparantly...comes from the fact that theirs was a far more substantial container, so we used to nick em! They still can't make a decent jet engine though

theres a round about at lutterworth, dedicated to frank whittle, it has a model jet in the middle.
went by it the other week we me wifes friend in the car, she said " theyve still not finished it, its got no propeller"

I think the Frenchies over at SNECMA may have something to say about that
Turbomeca are also French, although they do heli engines...

And the Russians !! Unless they are not considered commercial by virtue that no other Airlines will use them !!
Pretty sure that Germany, Sweden (Saab aviation) and Japan (Mitsubishi to name 1) produce commercial jet turbine engines.
