had one of those a couple of weeks ago, shame I didn't have my camera, caused by welding a piece of tube to bench and using it as a "holster"!

used to work as a production welder were you used a 15kg reel per day
timings were so high you had no time to look after anything
if you had a wire feed go down half the time the replacment was just as scrap as the one you removed because the fitters couldnt be arsed
badly fitted rollers --of centre to the guide tube---guide tube to short so it spat the wire out the moment you pressed the trigger
etc etc
you get alot of swan neck damage when the welder on the oppisite shift likes a different bend in the swanneck
oh happy days![]()

Now there's someone who understands me!

so had to do a few days with a std torch that got frustrating so new water cooled torch gets extra carefull treatent. Bet you haven't snapped the swan neck off completely yethad one of those a couple of weeks ago, shame I didn't have my camera, caused by welding a piece of tube to bench and using it as a "holster"!
Welcome back by the way![]()
Hey! where else do you want me to put my "gun"????
Billy the WelderKid!
I weld faster than my own shadow!

It had got hot enough to melt the outer sheath of the liner and weld it to the inside of the gas tube.

I heard one of the welders is to be sacked due to the amount of damage to company property.

horrible right?
Our stuff gets a hard time too. It's not mistreated, just heavily used, with little time to sort stuff out as we go along.
How long does a torch last your lot Stuart?

that gun holders way to small for a fast draw

Wow...he really must have made a mess then!
Those pics don't shock me at all Stu...that's how it goes when the only thing they want you to do is PRODUCE...
I do my best to take good care of my kit and jigs, you have to work with it 8 hours a day so that's the least you can do, it's for your own benefit! But unfortunately i don't always have the time to do it properly...
Time, production welders are slaves of time...i can't even say how many times i look at the clock during my day! Just to check if i'm still on schedule...horrible right?
