Lots of things to do with defence are not aircraft related, so while soldering may not be permitted there it is in plenty of other applications.

16 lengths of 3" x 2" timber, all at least 40" long. I've been driving past a skip on someone's front garden for a few weeks, and seeing this wood sitting there, hoping I'd drive past when someone was in the garden. I started to get a bit worried that the skip might disappear so yesterday I stopped and rang the bell, but no-one answered and I left a voicemail just to explain why I'd been there. Today as I drove towards the house, a car arrived and backed in, so I was able to ask the driver if it was OK to take.
I'm intending to build a bench across the back of the garage at home to replace a mixture of furniture that doesn't fit properly and isn't much use, and this is ideal stuff for the frame. It's a pity that the gap is 49" across and this wood isn't long enough, but I'm sure I can figure something out. They look like they've been holding up a pitched roof as they've all got one angled end, and that metal plate stuff that people use to join pieces of wood. Filled the passenger seat of my TT (which is exactly 26 years old today) but it's all at home now.

I've got this thing on yesterday evening
initially thought it was a sensitive drill due to the small chuck and design
But on this evening I've removed the top cover to have a look inside finding this
The drive pulley is connected to an horizontal shaft to bronze tapered pulley.
This last one is covered with a thick rubber layer needed to transfer the traction to one of two aluminum tapers on the spindle.
The spindle assembly can move up and down reversing the rotation.
Essentially I've got a bench top tapping machine.
I didn't find any name or logo on the castings yet.
My first thought was either a Waldown or an Eldak but I think this might be an Italian machine

i will be honest ive actually thought of making a rocket stove with a cooker at side of it and above the cooker for the smoker and all it would need is a replaceable plate to change from one too the other
