Petrol/Diesel prices near you

My view with fuel is that if its cheaper people will do more, travel more and being out more, they will spend more leading to greater tax revenues elsewhere.

Which will lead to more congestion, more traffic jams, more damage to the roads and environment and more people bemoaning the state of our roads.

Scotland's NC500 route being a prime example of the problems that encouraging more visitors onto the roads can bring.

Does seem like the price increases have reduced traffic quite a bit! I drove the A1 north from London and this weekend I was expecting it to be bad...was pretty clear.

Does help that the black cat roundabout wasn't on diversion though!

Just dropped my lad off at the train station, between 191.9 and 196.9 on the A63 for Diesel

I didn't buy any or look at petrol prices

I was thinking maybe I should have bought a petrol hybrid van instead of the diesel!...my diesel does about 42mpg!

I did well getting the petrol hybrid car though...that does 56mpg and because it's a detuned engine it's perfectly happy on the rubbish stuff.

Town I live in been dead traffic wise all week - but the kids been on holiday (this always make a difference at some times of the day).

But no real - Bank Holiday rush for the coast near me over this weekend.

Well people round here don't seem to be cutting back on travel. In the 10 miles home from the workshop aside from a multitude of cars and vans I passed bus tours from the museum, loads of bikes from Harleys to Sports bikes, scooters, several peletons of the lycra clad entitled, cadaverous and somewhat bewildered old people in extremely shiny cars, several groups of horses and a few tractors.
Many of the pilots appeared not to have been on the road in six months so I expect the emergency services will be having a busy bank holiday.

The US is a much bigger place, so fuel being cheaper per litre doesnt nessasarily mean they are spending less.

@Erie Fred what would you say is a normal milage over there?
Here, I'm doing 10-14k miles a year.



There is a lot that a health care system does not cover!

So by not covering everything, how is that any better than buying your own ?

BTW I drive approx. 40k miles a year. You bring up a good point.
"Prices" might be better served if taken "How much for the daily commute ?"
Instead of simply price per gallon.
