Very close to (finally!) seeing the back of the epic 3TA refurb now. Just waiting on a filter gauze & cover, and the customer making a decision on the wet sumping (replace the pump or live with draining it). Then a little shake down run or two, make some adjustments and send it on its way.

There are two explanations for the 'Twenty One' name spelt out in full on the side panels. The first explanation is that it celebrates the twenty-first anniversary of Triumph Engineering Co Ltd. The second explanation is that the important US export market rated motorcycle engine displacement in cubic inches and 21 cubic inches equates to 350 cc.
They've probably dumped their loss-making tanker business.No idea why it's gone down, nothing's changed with me or the van so I can only presume it's something at their end?![]()

Personally I go with the anniversary option because the T21 was launched in the company's 21st year which came 12 months after the launch of the T20 in the 20th year.Its on the internet, so it must be true.

I had never heard of the anniversary option, before you wrote the above.
BTW I'm going to stick to the "21 cubic inch so we can export more to the merkins" option.

With it being in your workshop and having 2 wheels I’m struggling to see what style of bike it is.
Those teeth are well knackered - has the drum been overloaded ?
