Virtually all peeled off with a really thin scraper, any remaining got sanded to feather the edges, hateful job never to be repeated in my lifetime

I really enjoy painting but then my mother's family were all tradesmen so it's bred into me.
Unfortunately my body doesn't like painting, murders my shoulders and neck.

Mostly, I have fixed my recently acquired dust extractor to a small trolley equipped with swivelling castors.
Beats lugging the thing about, I can tell you.
Even sprayed it a disgusting shade of mustard yellow....

Thankfully I'm able to say I have two 55mm high x 1.5m long hop ups with full slip resist aluminium tops £50 each from Screw Fix and four 2m long x 225mm wide x 55mm planks to make a reasonable working /walking on platform .Virtually all peeled off with a really thin scraper, any remaining got sanded to feather the edges, hateful job never to be repeated in my lifetime
I've had a set of super thin body filler scrapers for three years . As well as a Titan 40 litre wet & dry vacuum with a home made washable internal dust collector bag that is so good ,there hasn't been any fine dust escape when removing several inches of fine saw & sanding dust .
As the Titan is on four castors it might be possible to have a stand mounting set up to set the hose end close to the place I'm clearing of paint
It looks like my next project is about to commence .

use 1 gallon (5 litres) of posh (expensive) gloss to paint a single interior door on one side onlyHow did you arrange that, you must tell
her fault for giving me a tin of paint and saying paint that door while i am away, took a few coats but her request was granted
You must be a decor-maniac. Why do you feel the need to do it that often?

Not quite today but…I finally got the old jcb skid steer at work back up and running, quite a saga and lots of remembering where I left off as it’s been a bit of an as and when sort of job.
It shat it’s pants mid muck out and the post Mortem revealed a snapped camshaft probably caused by the water pump going for a burton…
Nothing too complicated really -once the cylinder head was refurbed and I got my head around French engine peculiarity-but as is always the case not enough room as you’d want.
Only a few snags…
The round casting with a threaded shaft poking out (see below) is for the fan pulley and is a left hand thread, which means if your me it takes a hell of a lot of nut gun action to get the nut off and a new nut and careful filing to get it back on again!
The head was missing a woodruff for the cam when it came back from the engine place in Norwich and it wasn’t clear what the Peugeot part number actually was for it so I made a new one. Which took more Pythagoras than any normal day at a pig farm should.
And finally Peugeot’s insistance on m7 bolts! I don’t think I’ve ever actually seen one in the wild before!
It’s done an afternoons work shifting concrete blocks, its running nicely and fingers blinking well crossed it stays that way! The other skid steer is a later jcb one with foot controls and even after you get used to using your feet it’s still not quite as good this old 150.
Final thing to do is replace one of the diesel return hoses that’s dribbling a bit. But I’m claiming a fix on this one!

That looks like the old psa xud engine fitted to many psa, ford, fiat and other vehicles.
Normally bomb proof engine if basic maintenance is done regularly. Unfortunately that doesn't always happen on a farm!
Only if you come here and do up to 6 hrs a day for five days work setting up some form work and demolishing 3 foot high single brick veg bed walling as a 5sq/m veg beds with BBQ in crap mortared brick BBQ @ £250 a day all found .Great as your equipped and enthusiastic can you pop round and finish the rest
