I once enquired, years ago, when at the optician's. Unless she was talking bunkum, apparently it's due to pigment, or lack of, somewhere in the eye.

Something else I’ve learned today. I hadn’t realised the connection, both of my daughters in law are red heads and one of them is light sensitive.

Same thing with blue eyes, mine are almost grey.
I sneeze and get watery eyes in bright light at the seaside.

I've never understood why that sneezing thing happens. Bloody annoying when you encounter the particular light levels/conditions which trigger it.

A welding instructor I had in college told us that ginger people (he was ginger) are more susceptible to arc eye than brown haired people. Not sure if it's true.

It wouldn’t surprise me at all, ginger people tend to burn easily, my wife is/was redhead & has always burnt easily.

Arb climbing rope 45m, I like these Liros ropes the shop had 14% off at the weekend so good price.
I plan to splice an eye on one or both ends - splicing a used rope is a real pain so has to be done while new.

Its a replacement for my first rope, which last autumn was cut by another climber who is very careless!

Also got couple of blue mini biners with it, and the red extra small ones last week. Compared to a normal sized.. low ratings and only for accesory use..

You don't see many blue eyed people from Africa.
A lot of the northern hemisphere population have blue eyes and blond hair, it's due to the sun's power / UV being much stronger at the equator I think.

140m of 12mm static rope in very good condition and a heavy duty solid base rope bag for £27. Father wanted 60m for the boat and rest will be for use at friends farm.

Nah steel blades would be scrap as soon as you hit the first bit of dirt.

There are chainsaw powered stump grinders, Alpine Magnum/Preditor, which have a near full size wheel. Expensive and I'm told they will ruin the saw bearings due to the weight of the wheel. I do want one.

There are these small carving types that should work, for getting the roots etc.. to peice out a stump. Carbide tips, but unsure what tips they take. This is what I was searching for...

Wouldn't surprise me. If there's a way to be awkward where any type of light is concerned, ask your nearest ginge for advice.
