Something else I’ve learned today. I hadn’t realised the connection, both of my daughters in law are red heads and one of them is light sensitive.I once enquired, years ago, when at the optician's. Unless she was talking bunkum, apparently it's due to pigment, or lack of, somewhere in the eye.

It wouldn’t surprise me at all, ginger people tend to burn easily, my wife is/was redhead & has always burnt easily.A welding instructor I had in college told us that ginger people (he was ginger) are more susceptible to arc eye than brown haired people. Not sure if it's true.
