You can thank today's "ambulance chasing lawyers" for that, I've been doing first aid since the 70's and seen the changes over the years

In the 80's Rover had a couple of fully kitted ambulances and trained crew on site who would "blue light" the worst casualties to hospital, the last place I worked also had an ambulance but all the crew could do was "hand hold" a casualty until county ambulance turned up.

Was a time I'd have been angling for a sympathy shag. Now I'll settle for her making me a sandwich.

Sod the first aid. I'd stick a bit more sellotape over the top and go to the pub.

Assuming your still alive in the morning you can go to A&E then if you need to. It's much quieter on a Monday morning and it'll be in works time not yours. You can thank me later for my advice assuming you make it through the night.

Draw a circle round it if it starts to go red and inflamed round the edges. You can tell if it's getting worse or better then.

The pile at the front of the garage is getting bigger as it awaits it final destination at the local tip. Meanwhile, I have gone through some of the tools too that are to be sold on and actually listed them. Problem will be the money from the tools will only go on more tools so not really gaining any space. I'm still hardly able to move in the garage other than a couple of square metres by the door so can't find anything I'm looking for but some of the clutter is coming off the shelving. Teddy's are stilling being thrown from the pram when I can't what I'm looking for or the search knocks over boxes that then spill their contents. To top it all off the garage roof has leak but luckily not anywhere that will cause damage to the contents.

Just coming out of my busy period at work and lots of car and DIY jobs stacked up but going into the garages just winds me up at the moment but I know I need to keep chipping away at it. Otherwise, like today the wife's car has water coming in through the door vapour barrier. Sods law that snap some of the clips and spent nearly an hour looking for the spares I know I have but can't find so had to order replacements and that took nearly as long again as they've changed part numbers as the clip has been superseded. Aargh!

I don't know, I've got my great grandfather's 1st world war medals, my grandfather's second world war medal, my dad has just given me his police medals which to go along with my own make a nice family collection.

Starting with some motorbikes, mini and Rover engines,

When my dad was demobbed, everyone was given a card to claim their medals. He, like many others, chucked it in the bin.
I did get his medals, in 1998, along with a silver long service medal from the TA with his name stamped into the edge.
He still wasn't that impressed.
He was a cook (everyone else took a step back).

Big respect to anyone who was a cook in the forces - it was the hardest course going. To this day I don’t think anyone has ever passed

Carrying a load of old, dirty 2'x2' greenhouse glass up the steps at the tip just now and the whole lot broke in half. Through my not too clean overalls, jogging bottoms (the same ) and into my leg. This is deep. Couldn't stop the thing bleeding. Sat in the bath with it under a running tap picking bits of debris out. Fun fact, the tools and techniques of debridement were perfected by Napoleon's surgeons and have barely changed!

Thats it. Another good reason not have a clear out. Its too dangerous.

Get that looked at in a&e or your gp treatment room.
They will likely stitch that or use steri strips. Probably get a tb booster too given it was a dirty cut.
Advise you to shave the area before you go. It will save a lot of pain when removing dressings. Plus the steri strips and dressings stick better.

Well I've done a tip run which was quite cathartic despite the critical injury

My collection of old brake discs and wishbones went, two 5L containers full of scrap/broken metal things, loads of old fluorescent light casings, the old induction hob and so on.

By getting rid of the greenhouse glass I've made a good start too on clearing the side of the garage. It's left a space sadly not quite wide enough for a walkway (though you could at a pinch), between it and the neighbours fence. The cat's will like it as a new run mind.

Need to trim / get trimmed the neighbours conifers now. Tbh if I put solar PV on the garage I'll need all the conifers along the garage gone or trimmed to like 6' high.

Also fixed a gutter corner that's been bugging me for years though in the process managed to dislodge a ridge tile at the bottom of the hip. No matter, the whole garage roof needs redoing anyway!
