Easily £500+ I'm guessing so get yourself some new toys for the garage!Today I made a start at clearing the garage , although this wasn't stuff for throwing , I got out all the bits of bags of scrap of the last 10-12 bathroom jobs and started separating

there's four bags of taps mixers and fitting and two more of the clear bags of copper , took a few hours to do I reckon 80+ kilos of heavy brass and probably 40+ of copper we'll see what the scrap man says tomorrow and I'm glad it's out the garage . Now to keep on clearing![]()

I've already got some new toys , I havn't even used them yet ! and I've also got stuff to go too , but it's got to be doneWhen I did several years worth of scrap sorting last year ready for taking it to the scrappies I spent a while here and there absolutely stripping everything down that was possible and cutting off any soldered up joints .Today I made a start at clearing the garage , although this wasn't stuff for throwing , I got out all the bits of bags of scrap of the last 10-12 bathroom jobs and started separating

Playing with this years ago and was being hassled to finish it, well ,motivating she calls it . Mounted the dynamite and hooked up the wick which I found last month.
Grinded off the trucker girl.
I have a clock mechanism somewhere.

My art and journey with it is ending.
That’s a shame, I’ve enjoyed your eccentric creations over the years! You giving up on the art work?
The vision, attention to detail and the finish you give to your creations is unique. I'm another one who will miss your 'slow reveal' threads. Good luck with whatever you do next @selectedgrubPlaying with this years ago and was being hassled to finish it, well ,motivating she calls it . I hadn't realised that he'd ever revealed what he was making.I'm another one who will miss your 'slow reveal' threads.
I took would miss your eclectic art.My art and journey with it is ending.
finished product...now i have a spare wheel ready to go on, its now time to fit it to the lorry. slight issue, there's nowhere to put it, short of hanging it off the front of the bulkhead, and you'd have to be a candidate for the worlds strongest man to deadlift it up there, so that's a no.
then there's this beastie...

Fits DAF LF Spare Wheel Carrier Euro 3 4 5 6 Price - £179.99 Inc VATptparts.co.uk
but notwithstanding the price, it wont fit my wheel size, so that's no good. but i can copy its principal.
lets start with a meter length of 300mm wide 6mm thick sheet.
first i cut it to rough length and slit it so my bender can bend it in half. then a spot of welding (proud of that weld) and thats step 1.

then a few holes...

a spot of bracing and framing.
View attachment 527537
then mount the hand winch
View attachment 527536
then the wheel hook lift/ locking bar that will be bolted straight through cut, drilled and attached to winch line.
View attachment 527535
then the winch handle modification, this will work of a standard 1/2" ratchet, i did consider just welding a 30mm af nut to it, but this will work just fine. old socket, not a good one either, never used it so now its useful

just got to weld a couple of old wheel nuts to it, measure up the frame rail on the truck to decide where to cut the backplate down to, drill holes and bolt it up, then take it back off and paint it
might need to add another brace too, we'll see.

In East Anglia trucking companies stopped carrying spare wheels way back in 1982 , far too many were getting nicked or sold by the drivers & at £ several hundred a pop it didn't make sense to have them .finished product...
