Sprinkled with salt. There was any jelly underneath that was a real bonus. When my dear old dad was alive, he loved beef dripping on bread - personally the thought makes me barf!!![]()

The air fryer fries the air, just as the name suggests. The air gets all hot and bothered and tries to cool itself down on anything it comes into contact with. Simples. So wheres one get the air to fry with?

Thats my morning routine most mornings, since the toaster went wonky and I cant be bothered to fix it. Then some worcester sauce sprinked on top.I do both, depends on mood and time. My favorite is to fully toast one side of the bread, this faces inwards, then toast up the outside while the cheese melts

Mix the desert spoon of ground nut oil ( or extra virgin olive oil) with a dash of light soy sauce , a pinch of dried mixed herbs and if you like a 1/4 teaspoon of dried garlic granules. stir the spuds in the mix ( better than a quick squirt) 12 minutes at 160 roast then 2-4 mins at 240 max crisp. If you can be bothered you can Part boil them first ,dunk them in cold water to stop the cooking ,dry them and carry on as before but only cook at 160 for 10 mins before giving them the Max Crisp treatment. keep an eye on them during the last 2mins or so to avoid burning.I resisted for a long time, but they are actually very good. As @Screwdriver says, they're just a small fan oven really, nothing magic but just very good at what they do. One thing I really like is that you can make your own chips with real potatoes, use just a small amount of sunflower oil and get a result which is better than the frozen things out of a bag that could contain gawd knows what. Same with chicken as well - it means its easy to avoid consuming over-processed packet stuff.
Ok, I bought a couple of these from Lidl some time ago which get used all the time, so I'll give your eggs idea a go later today. Thanks. Actually, if there's one thing I dislike about the air fryer its that the inside bits are fiddly to keep clean (mines a 'upstairs/downstairs' Ninja, not a side by side like yours). So using the silicon baskets or indeed any other oven-proof container that fits cuts the mess down a lot.

Last time I used tallow was for cutting threads on conduit as an apprentice!Having sweet potato chips for tea tonight. They were done in the air fryer and that's the best way I have found of cooking them so far.
(For potato chips, deep fryer with tallow wins every time)

The missus likes to put chicken kievs in the air fryer. Puts them on top of a piece of bread.
That catches all the juice that runs out so you end up with kiev on garlic toast.
Kiev and toast is not really a combination that I think goes together but I can see potential in the idea...

The other advantage is if the loaf is cut super chunky or irregular, it doesnt get jammed in and have to be fought out.
Mrs makes sourdough fruit loaf and regular bread, the fruit loaf toasted in the ninja cookpot is amazing, especially if I got control of the slicer that batch and "accidentally" set it to doorstop instead of thin stuff. if its normal bread I treat myself to some cheese on it quite often. Our cooking pot one sits on glass chopping boards that live on top of the hob. If we really want to use the hob, we just move it.
For the thread, we have the og double air fryer with the drawers from when they first came out, the cookpot one, a ninja slushie and the ninja icecream maker. The only one I think is pointless is the slushie, but my mrs would argue the toss because she makes up alcoholic slushies in it all summer and retires into her spa with them. I hardly drink and never cocktails so meh... The ice cream maker is great, because we make sugar free ice cream in it but that digresses from the airfryery aspect of this discussion. Both my kids have the cookpot ones at their uni places too, in a small apartment kitchen theyre compact and versatile and less risk of son setting fire to apartment experimenting with new forms of fusion cookery. When we go out in the motorhome, we take the air fryer with us and use it when hooked up
Silicon drawer liners make it a lot easier to wash up afterwards, and you already discovered the silicon egg moulds.

I've never tried scrambled eggs - how long, what temperature?
I have resisted the temptation as they are just another thing on the kitchen counter- but you can’t ALL be wrong I suppose?
