Nice set of Opinel knives, they all need a good clean and oil but I think they have been just badly damp stored as apart from the No6 the edges look unused & super sharp. Think I'll give the box a bit of love as well

Hammer and dolly set with 2 extra Facom hammers

A stillson pipe wrench unknown brand, slightly bent jaw but I don't really care about.
I've bought it just because I wanted the chain wrench on the right.
The handle is approximately 50cm long, chain almost twice...
It'll be probably enough to grab a 9" pipe

A nice solid hard thick pressure bottle, reservoir caps seem well made and builds pressure.

Are you sure they actually make money, its not just a ploy to kill off manufacturing in ever country by under cutting, then ramp up prices later once they have total control.

I suppose that's a possibility, but in that case everyone had better buy buy now, before we all get shafted.

At that time (1960's/1970's) it was the start of the end of British Engineering Dominance in the world, many British Manufacturing Companies had been world leaders since the start of the Industrial Revolution and they became complacent. England had survived WW1 and WW2, but having done that their attitude was "That we are the best".

Basically they sat on their posteriors and didn't do anything for years, no real advancements in design.

Remember BSA (Birmingham Small Arms) first started producing motorcycles in 1910, Norton in 1902 and Triumph Motorcycles was started in 1902.

The Japanese looked at the vertically split crankcases with oil leaks, redesign to the horizontal split which solved most of the problems, and made it easier to mass produce.
Their early bikes handled like rubber, but the engines purred...

Plus when WW2 was over the Allies help set up rebuilding their economy and their manufacturing infrastructure, just look at Germany, Japan and the rest of the far east now... who is now leading the worlds manufacturing

Which is exactly what the likes of AliExpress and Temu are doing now, apart from they are the Importer for many many small companies based in the far east...

A load of veneered MDF for me to knock up some fitted units in my loft conversion walk in dressing room jobby. This is the walnut stuff with just one sheet of the ash to decide if i liked the contrast. Probably another 10 sheets or so to finish off.

Some 3050 x 1220 sheets to bond together to make a 38mm top.
This is A/B veneer so a decent side one side, the opposite side must use up all the narrow bits. That's B side showing there.

Looking forward to getting cracking.

Yeah the carpet's getting changed soon..
