Garage - Increasing Storage Space

I AM making headway. I can now see the doors and bonnets that need to go "upstairs". I'm sure I've two bonnets there actually.

I've had a tough couple of years!

Sod's Law, right where I want to site the leccy hoist is under a big hole in the ridge:

I wondered where that funnel had got to!

@roofman think I've asked before but is there any way I can fit a dry ridge and not, for now at least, stick the sticky stuff down?

from what i see you want the ridge taking off and a few good rows of latts and then a felt over of the ridge and replace the latts and ridge again

as goes for boarding and storing up there they look to be 3 3/4"-4 3/4" ceiling rafters any joins is the failure point and because they are press fitted to the rising apex rafters with glued metal they are a good splitting point if weight is upon them

there a git to split from the wood but weight and long storage can seperate them with heat

you could store the doors on that board already up there as well as the ceiling rafters but you are getting close to storage limit and also person limit as well

Shifting stuff about up in the trusses I managed to knock a Tirak winch off from where I'd precariously balanced it.

Expecting a much bigger bang I looked down and it was sat atop the sister winch already on the floor from where I'd nicked the brake yoke for a mate.

When I got down I found that Capri bonnets make seemingly fantastic crash mats!

Chuck them out. Whilst clearing the garage I found the box that some rodents had vacated, I didn't even go through the box, I just chucked it out.
The bigger picture for me is the chance of a nice space to work in.

Tbf the garage came with a stack of premade picture frames. I just put them up on the mezz bit I boarded out.

Reckon I need to get rid of the adjacent conifer hedge that provides them easy access.

There's no point holding onto sh*te which are readily available, many places, if you ever need any in future.

Aren’t the tubes getting difficult to find now, or have you loads of them too.
Would getting some shelves be worth it, you may be able to get a few spaces you can hopscotch down the middle.

I can see some tubes off to one side in the eaves. Tbh I've a whole bunch of new LED fittings I can put up.

Are they the right size for the fittings? Give them away and go led.

I've four twin tube fittings in there. Each individually switched. I've replaced two with LED, two to do.

Basically not done the last two as they're right above cars, with stuff stacked on top and a bitch to get to.

Pointless having lights if you cant get in to use them. Bin the lot, its actually quite refreshing a form of therapy
