Crash proofing for beginners, the other way invites clouting the rotating jaws.
The compound went to get more clearance over the saddle.
You can use the existing lantern tool post for modern inset carbide, if you buy a cheap modern set that all uses the same insert (like CCGT which will be happy at the speeds safe for your machine) suiting the width of the slot once you set the tool height you can swap holders without height issues.

Wired as per Google Is this correct , have tried running motor , it trys but the the vfd trips .Haven’t a clue what I'm doing

I assume that you're using green/yellow as a phase and not earth?

Or have you somehow confused the two g/y?

Try comparing the output of the vfd with the plate on the motor and then choose the appropriate wiring diagram. It will then work much better. Apologies if you already know this and are just testing us, but the little triangle sign is is significant.

You're using standard 3-core for both the mains input and the 3-phase output.
Have you somehow managed to earth the g/y which is one of the three phases?
