Those schimtz ones MetalMonkey posted don't seem crazy prices.

there are proper made cable tie pullers with a built in blade....I like mine a lot...

The pistol type Frank refers to are best - squeeze the handle and twist the gun at the same time - ensures the cut ends up just inside the lock.

BTW there are some very cheap flush cuts out there made from mild steel.

I've got the Snap-On, Piergiacomi, and Knipex 78 61 140

The 72 01 series are the only 100% true Knipex flush cutters.

Of mine I like the Snap-On the best.

A tie wrap gun is nice to have if you're doing lots of them, one squeeze to tighten and snip the tail.

The Tsunoda KBN150s are the best I've tried. A few of the sparks who have borrowed mine have bought their own afterwards.

I used to carry a 5-pack of the cheap copies of the Xuron micro shear flush cutters for folk to borrow when doing site work. They cost under three quid each and were generally very good until a particularly cold job a couple of winters back. Two of the guys had them break in use and they now only get used in the workshop.

I now carry spare KBN150s. They also work remarkably well on finger- and toenails.

Had lindstrom, and various others, also have a panduit cutter which is brilliant. But the knipex as linked are very good you wouldn’t regret.

I have Linström sidecutters but I'm not greatly impressed. In fact the cheap cutters supplied with my Creality printers get far more use. I don't automatically reach for the former in my bag any more. That is why I was interested in the Schmitz offer, but at £39 carriage, I will stick with the cheapies thank you.

Actually, I do have some Engineer branded sidecutters in the workshop and they have been better than the price suggested too.

I bought them pre-brexit, possibly via ebay, and several pairs.
Don’t recall what the carriage charge was, but unlikely it was anywhere near that.
However they are available on Amazon with £20 carriage.

I have the carbide ones, so you do have to be very careful what you cut with them so as not to chip the blades, but if looked after should last a lifetime.

I bought a pair of the piergiaomi cutters off amazon and they were not proper flush cutters as the blades overlapped. Got them replaced and the new ones were no better so they got returned too.
They would not cut a cable tie cleanly and left a sharp edge on it.

I bought 5 pairs of the plato 170 flush cutters for £12 and they are brilliant. I'm only having issues with the first pair now but that's because I cut thick steel wire with them. But I still have 4 pairs unused.
