Daft question...are all the cutters the same shank?

I thought so but got caught out. The correct ones for my Rotobroach have some flats on them. Others have 2 dimples. I THOUGHT mine was engaging with the dimples - but not quite - thought mine had mysteriously developed a slipping clutch

Yes. Weldon shank 19mm ¾"

and theres a new quick fit available too ,,, could be Fien sort of handy but limiting I think

They're always trying to reinvent the wheel.
Not impressed with Fein anymore. I've heard good things about their mag drills but my grinders are junk. Metabo all day long.

I bought one 115mm grinder to see what the fuss was all about , all the engineering and balancing etc etc ,,, lets just say I still have one ,,, and only one out of three dozen small grinders ,,,

To be fair the angle grinders work fine, but I think the best in class vibration stats are fiction. It's noticeably worse for vibration than my Metabo (top of the line also). But the 5" is beyond noisy. Absolutely unbearable without earplugs. I even tried regreasing it.

The die grinder vibrates like mad, I don't use unless I desperately need to, I even sent it back, they said there was no issue.

Not sure if it's a balancing or shaft runout issue but it's junk. That was £220 that die grinder.

@Brad93 ,you think that’s old? My magtron,I bought at one of the NEC metalworking exhibitions,1994,it’s my one and only.

You could also upgrade your pillar drill to one with a back gear. Then you could use your annular cutters in it using a morse taper to weldon adaptor.
