good job, any chance of a link to chinease glue kit please, I have couple dents on rear tail gate that could be improved hopefully!A little update:
The engine is in and is running perfectly. It’s now on the road.
Cracking little car, though it still has a few niggles to sort out.
Spent some time tidying it up the other day.
The chrome had all been spray-painted black and looked awful. Fortunately no prep had been done so a quick wipe with a thinners-soaked rag took it all off and exposed undamaged trim.

There was a nasty dent in the left rear quarter and a crease on the boot lid so I broke out the cheap Chinese hot glue dent puller kit. It actually worked way better than I thought. Not perfect but I can improve it further.

Boot lid, no before pic unfortunately.
The crease was to the left of the number plate and was quite nasty.

Cleaned the headlights up with some G3 scratch remover and a waffle pad. They weren’t too bad but were definitely looking yellow and dull.

I bought a mini years ago
Spares or repairs on market place, running loud and rough, no power
I'd heard of another that stripped a sparkplug when serviced so took a spark plug helicoil kit with me, bought it, pushed it off the drive and rethreaded the head at the side of the road
Bloke did not look amused as I drove off
done the same once by re arranging the plug leads on a classic range rover on the guys drive, car was advertised as none starter...noticed they were all over the place as the dizzy was fitted 180 degree out..so working from that i re-worked the firing order and had it blob on but left 2 leads off until i was down the road to give the illusion of a bad motor to keep the seller happy.

I fitted a pair of Philips Ultinon H4 LEDs to the Pensioner's Car.After polishing the headlights up the other day I thought I'd treat it to some brighter bulbs so bought a pair of these.
Hmmmm….. now disappearing down an LED rabbit holeI fitted a pair of Philips Ultinon H4 LEDs to the Pensioner's Car.
Makes one helluva difference and none of the glary blue-white of the rest of the LED clan.
Not cheap, but worth it to me.
No issues at all.Hmmmm….. now disappearing down an LED rabbit hole
I’ve got factory fit LED headlights in my Peugeot and they are truly astonishing.
Beam pattern ok? No canbus issues?
Go to ebay and buy a pair of 100W bulbs (not for road use) have them in all my rides and they MOT every year no problem...makes the high beam look like candles .Did a couple more little jobs on it today.
3 out of the 4 rear parking sensors had packed up so bought a set on ebay for £18...... no more long beep.
Something I found out the other day is there's a very easy way to test them, just put the car in reverse with the ignition on and put your ear to them! If they're good they click.
Also tidied up the perished rubber trim around the bottom of the soft top with a roll of this.
There is a better kit out there which resembles the original profile better, which I may well get if I decide to keep the car.

What an absolute waste of money that was! They're absolutely awful, god knows what they're supposedly "220% brighter" than, maybe candles?
I'm actually tempted to send them back, they really are that bad.
I fitted Osram Nightbreakers in one of my cars years ago and the difference they made was incredible. I wish I'd paid a couple of extra quid for a pair of those now.
Just fitted them to my T5. Awesome lamps.I fitted a pair of Philips Ultinon H4 LEDs to the Pensioner's Car.

Not a good idea in anything modern. The wiring is too light and you'll likely melt the loom or bulb connector. The lighter wiring will not provide enough power to the 100w bulb so you'll not be running it at full brightness.Go to ebay and buy a pair of 100W bulbs (not for road use) have them in all my rides and they MOT every year no problem...makes the high beam look like candles .
Had them in 2 renault trafics and 1 vivaro for last 6 years...no signs of over heating...got one in my FJR1300 last 7 years, no signs of over heating. Not a good idea in anything modern. Been there, got a few t shirts.
You could rewire with relays and heavier wiring but there are easier and safer options out there.
