could just upgrade compressors to larger cable and 32 amp plugs, then fit 2x32 amp sockets on the wall with a single 32 amp breaker?

personally I think I'd just do a 32amp breaker with 2x 16amp sockets, but appreciate that's "against the rules"


what are the other breakers in the box and what are they doing? post a photo?

Ok folks,I’m fitting another small consumer unit in the garage wired from the original one in the garage,but do I need to fit c type mcb or b type?they are b type in the first c/u,and had no problems with the compressors running.

If you are going to install MCBs, usually C type.

My knowledge of this sort of electrics is poor, but i do know that my 16a devices will not work off 32a B curve breakers, but run fine from C curve units.

(edit: by "devices", i mean things with motors - compressors, table saws, big sanders etc)

Sure but then I wouldn't be installing MCBs or advising anyone to do so.

Just don't daisychain the rcd's
