16amp sockets

I have a spare way in my garage consumer unit,and wanted to know if it’s possible to install two 16amp sockets side by side,so the two compressors can run off them.

yes but id wite them seperate with wite to each and seprate rcbo or uprate the cable to take 32 amps or more and do a radial

sparkys will give the right details specs in a mo id expect

if radial id go for a 6mm cable if very short 4mm but depends on lenth

Yep.

If it were me I'd install a C16 breaker and then run a ring or spur to the two sockets.
If I were recommending someone else I'd suggest they get a spark to install the sockets, measure the Ze, and fit a C16 if the cabling is in tolerance or a B16 if it didn't.

If you plan to run both compressors at the same time, there isn't a lot of point in going for two 16A sockets off one circuit breaker. Maximum you could put them on would be a 20A.

A better solution if you only have one spare way in the board might be to put a 32A socket on a suitable cable and breaker and then make up a breakout box (something like the caravan hook up units) with a 32A plug, two 16A breakers and two 16 sockets.
That way you could run both compressors at the same time. Cable would have to be sized to suit the installation method.

There’s only one spare way in cu left,and I have 2 compressors,that’s why I was going down that route.

The OP says they have one spare way, so they can't fit 2x circuit breakers for 2 sockets
