Flux core welding

Hi guys can you recommend a good quality flux core welding wire please ?

i cant tell you what the best is as i never bother myself with that sort of stuff, but the most important thing to know is to avoid Super6 at all costs. i found for hobby use, imapx from screwfix isnt bad, SIP from halfords was one of my favourites for small spools although im using SIP in the welder i have just bought and it seems to be struggling with porosity, but i cant tell if thats down to me, a settings issue, the steel (i cleaned the front with a wire wheel but left the mill scale, and ended up burning through the back a smidge) or the wire but i always have a reel of SIP as a last resort if i run out of gas or need to do something too thin for stick welding outside in less than ideal conditions.

im not sure who does 5kg reels if your welder can take those but i cant imagine it would be cheap

Thanks for reply yeah my welder can take a bigger reel if need be ! I mainly weld gasless as opposed to gas as it’s plug in dial the settings and go no gas bottles and setting gas to think about ! Or I use the stick welds

I started with gasless, then went to gas, then got the tig so swapped my gas for argon and put gasless back in the mig...but now ive bought a new mig (again) and a 5kg spool of solid wire as i have a few things to make that just dont make sense to TIG...plus ive bought another land rover

Just get Lidl flux core wire it works well

Its easy to find Parkside flux core on ebay if none in store

I started with gasless, then went to gas, then got the tig so swapped my gas for argon and put gasless back in the mig...but now ive bought a new mig (again) and a 5kg spool of solid wire as i have a few things to make that just dont make sense to TIG...plus ive bought another land rover

I just use gasless but can go gas as the welder does both ! You have to weld the Land Rover then lol I’ve an old 67 beetle but unfortunately it doesn’t need welding apart from a body mount

Nothing needs welding on the land rover at the moment, but it's a land rover so it's only natural there will be rust...that said, I have yet to get the silly covers off for a proper look

Just about he best stuff you'll find is Lincoln Innershield NR211MP (or NR233) . Cost you more than wire from Lidl or Screwfix but you get get what you pay for.
