What about buying a cheap table or wardrobe from auction, charity shop etc that would provide a suitable size piece of wood ?

No Teak and Iroko are two separate species of timber. Iroko is less oily than Teak but equally good for external use if well maintained. Used a lot for hardwood window frames.

I agree that looks a little untidy. Cut back and attach lippings and it will frame it and make it look much cleaner.
