Friend of mine has a mate who rents diggers. When I was looking my friend gave his mate a ring. He said he wouldn't sell to me as the ex rental stuff is so bad amd abused it's end of life... almost.... he ships his off to Poland where they live a little longer. ...Just a thought.
Ex rental diggers. HSS sell machines off.
Depends how long they have been out on rental and by whom. Many of the small machines in the market are ex rental, but if its say a jcb rented out and maintained by the jcb dealer at 3 years old and 1500 hours Id not be so worried.Friend of mine has a mate who rents diggers. She will be hoping to sell you one, followed by 25 per month!Just had a message from Lydia at Rippa wanting to WhatsApp video me so she can show me around the factory!
Can't fault them for attentiveness but it's a bit full on.
Wife deals with them for small stuff that we buy. They are 'chatty' and quite sweet in their own way.Just had a message from Lydia at Rippa wanting to WhatsApp video me so she can show me around the factory!

We had a video of a specific item she wante more details for - and we're talking orders of £500, so 1/10 of what you're looking at!
Sorry - chinese in general. What, with Rippa or the Chinese in general?
I agree with this really. Even if if costs several hundred to hire for a while, at least you do not have to worry about breakdowns. Its a lot of money to part with for something that you may not be happy with. Why not just hire something, get your job done then take your time doing more research on the Chinese or look at a few used ones?
Totally agree. I done exactly the same.Whilst not wanting to dissuade someone from buying new toysWhen we had an extension and largish patio done last year, we had 2 young labourers dig the foundations for each. Each foundation filled to max (and probably over) the largest grab hire 8 wheeler lorry. Including wheelbarrowing the spoil around the front of the house, each trench took probably less than 2 days. Find a builder with a couple of decent labourers and your trench will be done in a couple of days for a few hundred quid.
Easier when someone else is doing it!I've dug by hand before
My thoughts exactly…hiring a guy with a machine, will be quicker, also with far less mess. By the time you have learnt how to drive it the job will be done.I agree with this really. Another aspect not touched on is storage. Do you have somewhere secure and under cover to keep it. ? I cannot insure mine because it is not locked indoors, and I try to keep it out of sight as much as possible for obvious reasons.
Then there are all the new friends who want to borrow, but not pay when they break it.
