Help to choose tig welder.Cebora, Lorch, Cea , Rehm , Fronius, Bohler, Migatronic?

I want to buy a top ac-dc single phase tig welder.
For stainless I have a cebora win tig 220m and I'm very happy with that machine but I don't know if cebora is that good for aluminum. I live in Crete a big island and I cannot find a demo for any of big brands.

Hi Alex,

I'd pick models from each, compare the specifications - and then consider your favourite colour! There's a few Lorch fans on here (I'm one, I've got the MicorTIG) but then I've also got a Bohler MIG... I'm a fan of German engineering which might explain. Oh, and I've also recently bought a VW Golf!

There would be 5 machines on my shortlist. 3 are designed and built in Germany/Austria.
Lorch T220 (handytig 200 if you can live with only 200 amps and want to save money)
Fronius magicwave
EWM tetrix

The last 2 are good brands, not sure where they are made these days.

Kemppi minarc

My personal and business money goes on Lorch. I've had experience with 5 or 6 of their pulse MIG sets now and every one of their TIG range from Micortig up to V40 top end machines. Currently I personally own 2 Lorch S3s, a Micorstick and a Handytig 200 ac/dc. The only thing I'd change the handytig for is a T300.

Go by your closest reputable dealer and what they sell I've used cheap Chinese and expensive German, the most deciding factor on quality of weld was time under the hood

I've owned/used a Lorch 220 ac/dc pro for about 12 years now, purchased from/via Matt1978 (ex-demo machine I believe), top machine. 16 amp 240 volt mains input. .

The only thing I would have changed on my original order, would be a 7m torch lead......

4m tig torches are the most frustrating thing, i always spec 8m torches.
I love the lorch powermaster torches, they're so comfortable and easy to use. Definitely worth the extra in my opinion

Fronius I wave 230 here top welder, need a minimum of 8m lead 4 m waste of time. 12 metre is the right job

Dealers here have only cheap Chinese brands that are for beginners only(and maybe not even for that)

Fronius for sure is on top 3 brands in the world,have a ignis 180 and it is a very nice mma machine(not the best for me) but I don't like the policy of fronius that you have to pay extra firmware to have everything machine can offer.

All of the best welding brands do this nowadays. Every single one.

I would second @Munkul list. If you have the money.

Although I do love the German/austrian machines the miller dose have the ability to support a suitcase feeder and do mig welding as well which is something to concider comes in 210 and 330 amp variety if I remember correctly. Very spendy though. But it’s the one man band do everything machine as the miller rep said to me ounce. Not as easy to use as the German/austrian machines though.

With any of them spend the little extra and get the multi voltage models either 110 & 240 or I believe the 330 miller can do 110, 240 and 440.

He'd have to get it the EWM to Crete, but that wouldn't be impossible.

if there's a Cebora dealer on Crete, you could get a demo of the AC/DC machine they offer I'm sure it'll be a decent machine.
