If it's anything like my van the issue is the height.
There is part of the axle above the bolt head blocking direct access.
You can get a socket on the bolt but there is not enough room to get a driver into the socket.

So you are left with using a ring spanner, welding a bar to a socket or using a stilson on the socket.

The stilson method works quite well and has gotten me out of trouble before. Sometimes you have to add blobs of weld on the socket to stop the stilson slipping.

That isn’t an issue for me. I can get a 6” extension in if needed. It does need the shocker to be removed but that’s a 5 minute job. Lots easier than the rear springs, just hope I never have to do that job.

My Fabia had quite a bit of rust mainly in the sills. UK cars from the coast tend to be quite rusty from experience. Glad the calipers are OK! I'd put a dollop of grease in the ends and work the cables a bit if you get chance. The cables on mine allowed water in through split plastic on the outers which didn't help! The one was locked up solid.

Just had a quick glance! Rusty old Fords... I remember taking the sill covers of my mates XR2..
My Fords were all older classics.

Yeah those bolts were a joy to remove.

I "think" those are what I ordered in the end.
