Ammonium Sulphamate, a dash of soap. Its systemic so kills the roots as per Glyphosate but without the questionable safety issues surrounding it.
Has been my go to for many years.

makes it a bit quicker and helps get it all in to the plantBlue gem dye also highly recommended, to see where you’ve been.
Does that stuff burn the plants down a bit quicker? My only complaint with glyphosate is, it takes so long to look like it’s worked.
Got my eye on a huge amount of horrible ragwort in a 7 acre field.
And what's wrong with flared trousers ? I expect you were just as guilty as the rest of us.I don't think ammonium sulphamate is banned as a weed killer, just not licensed as it hasn't gone through EU testing. The same can be said about custard, flared trousers and earwax, they're not licensed as weed killers but not banned.![]()
i never worn bell bottoms or winkle pickers or had large side burners had the double 2 paisly shirts mindAnd what's wrong with flared trousers ? I expect you were just as guilty as the rest of us.

my bruv inlaw once worked for the railways and gave me some white powder killer they sprayed along the tracks with he used it on a public footpath edge along his house. tother side of the footpath about 8 meters away from a row of conifers about 60 foot tall2 month later a guy was taking a sample from the ground and checking the trees
he asked whats the score , tree specialist said 12 of them were dying
brother inlaw never let on he had done it and fortunately for him he moved house a month after
never found out what it was but it was good
Just saw this, and cringed, my grandmother died of ParkinsonsSince loosing both FIL and MIL (is that an actual known abrevation? ; it is very close to something completely different) to Parkinsons disease after a horrible few years of gradual degeneration, I never ever want to come close to this stuff.
What a horrible end.

What did you use? What protocols for it?I fought Japanese Knotweed for ten years at one site I own - I have been "Knotweed clear" for seven years now....![]()

I'm not sure Paraquat (or more commonly sold as Gramoxone in the UK) would have much impact on trees via their roots, as IIRC it mostly relies on leaf contact."Paraquat"
But to be honest I have never found anything that Glyphosate will not kill. Pick a dry day - get under waxy leaves - and it is dead....
