Power assisted motorcycle clutch cable. Ideas?

Oh also forgot the DCT is also available on the NT1100 and the Rebel 1100. The Rebel is very low so although it weighs a lot it is all low down and is very easy to ride.
I had one as a courtesy bike, it was nice but just not my style and I did notice the lack of power compared to the Africa Twin even though they share the same engine.

Ask NABD, they have experience modifying bikes for riders with very serious disabilities (missing limbs etc) so I'm sure they will have options for a weak grip on a lever.

A Healtech quick shifter could be used in conjunction with the Rekluse thus basically making the clutch redundant. How well the Healtech works I have no idea and also not sure if it downshifts as well as upshifts but I think it will.

I did think of a quick shifter, you need a throttle blipper really to clutchless downshift (this is normally a factory option built into the ECU).

If @Morrisman is still ok changing up and down the gearbox and it's just neutral selection that is an issue the Rekluse is a very good option.

Yes, just looked and it only mentions upshifts which are usually pretty easy on most bikes without using the clutch anyway.

I joined NABD a couple of months back, they don’t appear to have a forum as such, just a Facebook page.

Loos like Rekluse do a kit for the G310 GS.

Seen them, but they’re rather spendy. I’ve heard that later models of my bike had some sort of ‘auto’ clutch, but not sure exactly what they do.

Solenoid assisted hydraulic system ?
Or even a solenoid assisted mechanical lifter arrangement like the three-ball BSA/Triumph setup ?

Not sure what BSA/Triumph set up is like.

The BM has a super revvy little motor, I can’t imagine what a foot clutch would be like in traffic.

I think the Rebel 1100 itself is a fairly weighty tool, which is something I’m trying to avoid. I have heard they’re fairly low tune for an 1100 too. I shall do research on the weight of such a beast.

There always the Honda ADV 350, half way house between scooter and bike (they do and ADV 750 as well with 6 speed DCT).

We've had a customer riding up till very recently (88 years old) that said going over to "Scooters" was the best decision he made, that was probably 15 years back now. He was doing 16,000 miles a year at one point!

Said he saw all his mated struggling with their bikes while he just go on and did the miles.

I think the bike itself is a fairly weighty tool, which is something I’m trying to avoid. I have heard they’re fairly low tune for an 1100 too. I shall do research on the weight of such a beast.

They will probably weigh about 250kg but they don't feel it, it was very easy to push around compared to my Africa Twin.

Bit risky as that would mean you put the front brakes on the weak hand and the front brakes on a bike do most of the stopping.

could you put a twist grip on the left and use it for the clutch , some of the custom choppers do that so they dont have levers on the super sleek looking bikes

Yes, just looked, the Rebel 1100 DCT is 250kg but as said it didn't feel anywhere as heavy as the Africa Twin when pushing around, probably due to everything being low, seat height is only 710mm and even I, with knackered knees and hips, could swing my leg over

IF you could find a useable one how about a CB400A Hondamatic auto . Circa late 70's.

My right hand is better, but slowly fading away, it’ll follow the left one in due course. I did consider either swapping sides, or putting both levers on the right. There are twin lever setups available for amputees.

I’ve had a browse of the 350, as a mate has a 750 version and loves it. I don’t need too much power myself.

I did a VFR for a customer a while back, put throttle and front brake on lhs bar and clutch on rhs handlebar (due to mobility issues).

It was unridable for me and he tried to adjust over a few months but ultimately we put it back to standard.

Oddly enough we were talking about that at work yesterday (I have his other bike in where has made his own dual front brake levers / linkages).
