A centre stand is one of those things you take off and leave on a hook on your garage wall for maintenance but end up using bike stands instead isnt it?
I thought it was a Maxi scooter but could have been a Goldwing, it was definitely factory fit.
There was another bike with a split cluch cable, on end went down to sidestand to retract it and that again was factory but I can't remember the make or model, wasn't a bad idea really but likely no cheaper than a sidestand inhibitor switch..

Kawasaki LTD 550 came with that clutch cable gizmo. BMW k750 has it too.
I've not read all 7 pages so no idea if this has been mentioned but could a swap round of levers work?
Swap out the rear brake to the left bar with the addition of a thumb brake(pretty common in the racing world) and then put the clutch cable onto the rear bake pedal?

It has been mentioned, but it would make it pretty awkward to put the bike in gear from standstill. Or to put it in neutral at standstill.
I did think about a left foot clutch and gear change knob on the side of the tank, or somewhere convenient.
Fair enough. I'm assuming it's also been mentioned having it below the front brake lever? One lever being a shorty and the other being full length?
I worked as a motorbike race mechanic a club level for 11 years and I've seen a few different riders with adaptations for single arm use on bikes.
There was a guy in Australia( I think) who had lost one arm and leg and his race number was 1/2

The later BSA/Triumph centre stands with the foot lever were usually a doddle to use, but a longer foot lever would have made things a bit easier.....

Several people have mentioned the Yamahas, but they only seem to have it on the bigger bikes, so too much weight for me.
I had a sit on my mates 1938cc Harley Fat Boy yesterday, I couldn’t even get it upright off the side stand, nor pull the clutch even halfway in. Won’t be buying one of them then.
I’m leaning towards something like this now. Or rather me mates think it would suit me. Piaggio mp3. 500cc, supposed to be great fun, and wheels lock upright once you’re below 5 mph.

I've always wondered if it's possible to rear wheel steer one of those...

I finally motivated myself and ordered one of these yesterday, as suggested by someone near the start of this thread. For some reason I had thought they fit at the bottom of the cable but now I realised they go at the handlebar end. Whether I can get it in place I’m not sure, there’s not a lot of space for it to move back and forth with the bars.
Still not sure if the reduced cable travel will be an issue but my new improved gear shifting technique might help reduce dramas.

My k75 has a nice solution for this; if the clutch is pulled the sidestand springs up triggered by a small rod between the clutch lever on the back of the gearbox and the spring of the sidestand.

The clutch gizmo arrived yesterday, smaller than I expected and not really brilliant quality. I’ve been out to try and fit it on the bike. Theoretically it should work, but it adds 5” onto length of the clutch cable and the cable is already a tight squeeze where it is. Plus it has a 4” curved tube swaged on the end, probably to stop it kinking as the bars go lock to lock.
I shall ponder the problem and see if I can find a solution.

I wish I’d kept the cable I took off, as it only had about 5000 miles on it, but was pretty stiff. I could have experimented with it.
