And the recent 08S update- the saw has a couple of broken castings on it -


I will be able to magnesium TIG weld these areas up and fully repair them it'll just add a couple hours of work no big deal really.
It's interesting that all the parts, including even the recoil cover is all magnesium cast. And the great thing is, besides the damage above there isn't a single fin missing from the recoil which is important and also something I couldn't have TIG welded back

Next job on this 08S is to remove and rebuild the recoil with new rope etc and get the saw able to turn over to check for spark first.
Thw chain on it appears new and razor sharp but rusted and seized in place. I will remove that and soak it in evapo rust which will take care of that as too good a chain to throw away.
045 repairs will come first to get it running then I'll come back to this 08S and get it running too.
