Straps over the wheels look slack.I wonder what his insurers would have to say about this if it was involved in an RTC!
Pulled over on the M1, apparently the car was already subject to a prohibition notice for having no tacho.

That's how most cars/vans get strapped in transport here, even on car transporter trucks.Straps over the wheels look slack.
I use transport chain on hard points, axles, tow hitch, front a-arms, etc.
Most manufacturers now stipulate it, and DVSA require four straps per vehicle if the last (or only) one on the back of a truckThat's how most cars/vans get strapped in transport here, even on car transporter trucks.
Its the proper way to secure a vehicle. If you strap to any other part apart from the axles the straps will loosen as the suspension bounces. That's how most cars/vans get strapped in transport here, even on car transporter trucks.
I remember our old fella doing something similar with our boat many moons ago as I was pecking his head about something as a kid and being distracting. I also remember his face when I looked back and gently pointed out the boat was in the middle of the road behind the tractor………As an impovrished student, when my Triumph engine ran several bearings on the M1 on the way back to uni on a sunday evening 35 yrs ago, I rented a trailer to tie on the back of a mates car that had a tow-bar . . . my car was securely held on the trailer by the winch cable . . . and gravity . . .
I own proper straps to tie things to my own trailer these days.
I know but there are another couple ways to secure by the wheels. Its the proper way to secure a vehicle. If you strap to any other part apart from the axles the straps will loosen as the suspension bounces.
