Even up north we don't see the temperatures that you do. We also have a very moist climate, which means flannel isn't the most ideal material. Merino wool thermals are far better than flannel lined stuff for the UK climate.

They'll be in hibernation for a few good weeks yet. I really like Scotland... and the Scots, but I could not manage a winter there.
I don't quite understand why you come on a British forum. And whenever anyone tells you that Britain is different to America you find it so difficult to accept.
Britain is well renowned for having a very damp climate. Anyone that visits here in winter comments on it. You also seem to disregard the fact that whilst I am from the south east. I have in fact left my county. I have even done this in winter. as said I tried a pair of flannel lined carhartt jeans. And they where to thick you got hot and sweated which coupled with our damp climate becomes very uncomfortable very quickly. As opposed to merino wool which wicks the sweat away and allows you to stay comfortable throughout the day.
It's probably why it's very easy to obtain wool thermals and noone sells flannel lined clothing.

You mean the recommendations of thermals ??
Or the recommendations of micro fleece lined.
As funnily enough neither of those are flannel lined. Or behave like flannel lining.
And its not just this thread. Every thread you participate in you seem to recommend an American way of doing something then getting emotional when it is pointed out that it won't work for the British poster.
It really does seem to the vast majority here that you are either a few sandwiches short, or you just like arguing or being difficult. Neither of which is doing a sterling job of improving the any stereotypes.
