Winter Workwear

I need some new shirts and vests. Just before Dickies went away, I bought a load of their shirts, which have been great but are now getting old. For really cold weather, I have some Damar Thermolactyl vests, which I quite like, but they’ve stopped making them .
Any suggestions for new alternatives welcomed. I might add that I'm at the upper end of the forum's age range, and really do not like the current weather .

Marks and Spencer do a range of thermals, and for really cold weather the Maximum Heatgen long sleeved tops and long johns are very good with the short sleeved medium when it is a not as cold.

Carhartt is really good stuff. But expensive. Quality has slightly declined but still what the yanks wear in extreme cold and better than a lot of UK brands.

The other option is Hoggs of fife do fleece lined shirts and moleskin shirts. Both very warm. I've had the fleece lined shirt before but go to hot working in it. But I think I run hot as it is.

I was amazed to see them in ny kids favourite clothes shop Urban Outfitters, seems they are indeed a fashion item. Assume the quality is lower when they are not likely to be used for actual work?

I've had a few of them, some styles are so stiff, i think a 22lr wouldn't penetrate them....

I forgot Engelbert Strauss.
These shirts wear brilliantly I have some 10 years old that are like new.
I'm 6ft4 so the extra long ones stay tucked in all day keeping you lower back warm. No other shirt last that long tucked in.

Yes, the Dickies range of today is rather different to what I recall and their "shirts" are more like jackets. I've bought some M&S stuff but don't like it.

Have a look in TK Maxx if there's one nearby. I managed to get a couple of fleeced lined shirts that weren't pricey

I was in my local Lidle today, they had lined winter work trousers in the middle aisle

i do the charrty shop rounds t shirts any no name tesco marks and sparks etc fleece jumpers moutain waerhouse etc

i got fed up with spending good money to get covered in paint and mastic now i pull a t ****rt out the drawer use for a few weerks months untill looks a bit grubby then throw pull another out #

t shirts about 2 or 3 quid jumpers 5 to 7 quid

-1 temp 2 t shirts 2 jumpers normaly do for the day unless raining most of the time i can choose where i work so if ******* down shelf the job for another day

I am in the south east but I've had flannel lined carhartt jeans before and they where way to hot to wear for work. The normal double front ones and a pair of thermals are plenty thick enough for any weather we get down here.
Wind chill has been the problem this year, as I don't think we have had a single day this winter that it has stayed below freezing all day.
