Get the real ones you'll never regret the money spent.
Thrust me knipex is the best pliers manufacturer, you'll never find something comparable and if so it would be rebranded stuff produced by knipex (würth, mecanocar, 3M etc...)
I have side cutters, lineman's, and cobra pliers they are just great.
Side cutters cut as thin stuff as an hair and they cut zip ties flush leaving less than 1mm of excess (I'm not able to explain better)
Cobras don't slip whatever load you apply to them even on hardened steel once the they bite.
Lineman's are really smooth and ergonomic, all of them really

Interesting thought, I imagine that the military QC is of a different order to the general retail that we see. I know that some brands who manufacture in China put dedicated QC people in the factories.

You are right, and I haven't regretted buying the Knipex Pliers I have, even though they cost me £45.oo Pounds. I've never had a problem with Lidl tools, so I am confident the Knipex type they offer should be a good value for money.

Last job of the day the customer was there, we were in a hurry.
Job was a 5 cm weld on an aluminum swing arm.
Burned with the torch, wire wheeling with the angle grinder.
Didn't paid attention the vice got loose, workpiece moved kickback, the grinder took off my hands even if held it with both hands very firmly.
The Jeans got wound on the spindle stopping the grinder.
Time to realize, very calmly shut off the switch.
Removed the phone from the patch.
Disconnected the power cord.
Removed the grinder.
Check the leg no bleeding no holes on the trousers beneath the jeans.
Now it hurts a little because it was practically like a tourniquet on my leg.
Probably the phone saved the situation.
Watch out while using grinders.

Picked up an MoT fail and one of the Lidl impact socket sets. For some reason I was expecting them to be 3/8", but they turned out to be 1/4". They'll do in conjunction with the Makita 14.4V impact driver for smaller stuff.

I wonder if they’ve taken the German tool name? The old vw and audi spanner’s that were supplied in the canvas tool rolls from new had that name,plus they made some nice tool chests and cabinets.

Mixture of fasteners,been using a lot of these csk tek screws fitting feather edge boards to my workshop doors. The paint is a freebie as the previous batch were luminous green! Plus more roller refills,they’re thinner resistant. The fasteners were delivered at 8pm last night,my regular supplier was in the neighbourhood.
