Fein now do a brushless grinder excellent for applications like this. Immensely powerful and slim in the hand.My main use for angle grinders in the boat trade was grinding fibreglass with coarse sanding discs, probably the best way to kill any grinder.
When you are grinding fibreglass for hours on end you soon find out which are best!
I had an early AEG that lasted 20 years, bought another AEG & it lasted 6 years. Bloke i worked with had two Bosch, we used to use them on rotation grind with one then when it got too hot to hold swap it for the other one.
De walt were powerful but got too hot to hold after 10 minutes.
I used to blow mine out with the airline daily.
Best one by far is a Metabo, Dad bought it in the mid 1980's & i inherited it 10 years ago, its still going.
Worst was a silverline that let its magic smoke out just 12 minutes after it first started!
About £340 though!
