I was thinking the same, it looks like one sandwich and it'll be gone. Though we have nothing for scale, it might be sitting on a branded yacht sail.

It occurred to me I don't own enough things which say Zeiss on them, so I got myself a loupe.

I saw this vac. dumped by the clothes recycling bin.

I thought that it's worth trying to repair, so brought it home.
But it works
Wet n dry with a 13A trigger socket rated to 1400W.

Since I fitted mine there' definitely seems to be much less gurgling in the system.


It's about 50% larger than the boiler mounted one that failed

North American installers, when they have a water system rather than blown air, seem to mount them that way up - supposed to stop air in the system collecting on the water side of the bladder.

I have read somewhere that they tend to get recommended to be mounted with the water connection at the bottom to stop crap in the system getting in and potentially damaging the bladder - having seen the crap that came out of my system when I fitted a filter, despite repeated flushings, that could make sense.

The thins get flippin' heavy when they fail and fill with water!
