The (first iteration, it's not finished yet) web page about the device is up on my website: http://tomboy-pink.co.uk/SFT/ (no SSL yet, it will be available on https in the next few days once my domain transfers to a different host). It gives a little more information about how the device works (or, rather, how I imagine it will work once it's built), how I came up with the idea, whether it purports to be a 'free energy' device, etc. Also you can download a copy of the FreeCAD model from there and there are links to the scienceforums and physicsforum discussions of the device.

A little update: yesterday I went to visit my local FabLab to dicuss getting some support from them. The guy took one look at the model and said, "Oh yeah, we can print that easy," which is rather reassuring, since I've never 3D printed anything and this is the first time I've designed for 3D printing. The FabLab have an event all this week, so are a bit busy, but I have emailed the lab manager and hope to get an appointment to go and discuss the project early next week. Meanwhile, in case anyone fancies getting in ahead, the full project is hosted on my GitHub (referenced above) so you can download and experiment. There are still a few issues with render materials that I am working on with the Render Workbench developer but otherwise the model should be pretty much ready to work with.

No swash cylinder in this one. In this design the reciprocation is converted to rotation via pins that engage in a cam groove in the face of the flywheel. I initially imagined the track for the groove would be diamond shaped and initially made it like that. Then I ran the animation and noticed the pins were running out of the groove except on the long and short axes, observed a bit more and saw that the track was more lip-shaped and so I changed the cam track to match where the pins tracked. In the end it's a bit more like distorted lips: on one half the track moves a little further out than the other half. Anyway, it looks like it will do just what I want now.

Sadly, I need to redesign. At this scale it is very difficult to get the tolerance needed to get this design to work. Also I need to design in adjustment for lining things up. The crank mechanism, whilst beautiful and good in theory is not ideal in practice, so I'll use a much simpler Scotch Yoke system to convert the reciprocal motion to rotary motion.

Since you're missing the entire point regarding force and work because magnets are effectively "magic" to the uninitiated, allow me to share my perpetual motion machine.

Based on exactly the same principle employed here except <drum roll please> without using magnets. I call it "stick theory".

Take a stick. Any stick will do. Now push the two ends together and you feel a "force" which resists the ends being pushed together. Not only that but the force increases the harder you try to push them. Bank that thought and consider the curious situation when you try to pull them apart. Not only does the stick resist with an equal/opposite "force" but that too increases the harder you pull.

Got me thinking, what if I take two sticks, connected via some elaborate mechanism so that as you pull on one stick, it pushes on the other! Then you just need a simple mechanism to alternate pushing and pulling which - here's the clever bit - derives its motion from the work being done trying to pull and push.

According to stick theory either the mechanism will oscillate and generate free energy forever or it will just sit there being a stick.

I'm really excited to see what happens.

If by that you mean continue to rely on sound scientific principles then I certainly shall.

I assume the subtlety of my example is lost on you which is why you continue to misunderstand the dynamics of this situation.

Another example: free energy is everywhere. But you want to make it do work which is an entirely different kettle of fish.

TLDR: it will energy but it will not work.
