So if I used two of those 1000v ones I would be ok? I guess I would need to also change the good one so they matched?
Surprisingly the UK agent for MeccAlte has got back to me. They are £3.45 +Vat & £4.95 del (but a major faf actually ordering them). Have spoke to the local rewinders but they dont do it however there other branch might so I am waiting for a call back.
There is a possibility I could get someone I know to order it on their Farnell account but it may some time, like a week or so. Let me know if that would help and I'll ask them.
i think it would be better to put 2 lower amperage in parallel but stick with the 1300volts
if you put them in series it would start to get messy beacuase you would then need a capacitor and resistor accross each diode to equalize the PRV drops and guard against transient voltage.
Time is of the essence as we are off grid & the PV panels are now not producing enough power for us to live on & we need extra power to run the power tools so we can finish building our cabin.
I think I am going to have to get them via the UK dealer at nearly £10 for one. Big pain is I need to open an account first.
I've gone ahead and ordered these diodes just in case, I will have them in a few days. No prob if you don't need them, I'll just keep them in stock, I'll probably have a use for them eventually !
