It should turn up in post next week. Then it will get stripped, blasted and repainted in Roundel Blue.

I said I wouldn't buy any more Record vices but to be fair that was 3 days ago.

These 2x no 4's turned up locally. Went to buy one and the seller wanted both gone so he forced me to take them home.



Re the bent handle I think I'll heat that and use my 20 tonne bench press to straighten it back.

I also picked up one of these Mercedes / Weber 3 tonne german made bottle jacks. New unused.

It's got 2x ram stages so gives it a very tall lifting height. Will be ideal for engine or transmission mount replacement.

A multi sized bottom bracket tool

Needed as I'm removing a cheap one and replacing with a smaller Shimano. I know most members would prefer the 4 separate tools however

OH new tool porn again i hate to say it but my bike tools stuff has expanded in the last few years

im looking at a tool hanger ajustment tool at the moment see if i can find a 2nd hand on ebay for the same notes as the cheapy versions that will work but wont be as nice

I mostly use my normal tools but when you add up all the different bottom brackets, pullers, cassette tools, chain tools, hub tools, you end up with quite a collection

same here but add x amount of cone spanners rear mech sockets there are a few spoke wrnches and then down to the bottem brakets

add to that hydrolic blead kits and ive still got stuff ive not got

I forgot the hydraulic stuff, I'm a recent convert but honestly think the internet has made them out to be something awesome, when they are good but far from game changing

I now have a reasonable collection of chainsaws but I was after a brushless motor to power my lathes milling slide. I dont want to take it from the Katsu as its a good saw , so I bought this for £35.
Note theres no chain brake of any sort so not for the careless.

Good to see an oil pump in there, but the normal worm drive sort though.

Motor looks decent and big gear reduction.

Put it back together and will wire up a battery adaptor. Want to give it a decent test. If theres any issues it can go back before I modify it.


Also 4 packs of 3, 14" 3/8LP chains for £8 total

only reason i got hydro stuff son bought a bike that had it and needed fixing so that was one set

only reason i got it on my bike is one of the old cable disk ones the spring in one of them failed and we had a scrap bike that had a hope front hydro just to see what the fuss was about i put it on and they are better but lets face it not that much better but son stoped playing with bikes as much so that means id have to spend money to go back to the cable version when ive got a working brake as is so it stayed and after a work change dont do meny miles on the bike any more i still service it but id say it only does 10 miles a month at best

2nd hydro kit was for a mate at work but did not have the kit for that he said just buy it and keep it for sorting his brakes its been used twice on his bike now and only cost 12 quid ish


if i had a choise if the bike i get next time dont have hydro on it id stick with the cable version at least if the brake failed you can fix it on the side of the road try fixing a hydro on the road

Woke up feeling rough, went for a walk, did a bit of light clearing in the garden and burnt the old greenhouse timber in the drum incinerator. Felt better. Thought I'd got away with it. Slept on the sofa so now wide awake and feeling sorry for myself.

Didn't even go to the pub!

I've been looking for one for a while now, I had hoped to buy one from a forum member, didn't seem to work out, but never mind...., won this on the Bay of Fleas for £26-00 + courier costs.

A bit of wiring repair/shortening/tidying and a new power cable n plug, got it working today as it should.

Abit under capacity for my choice, but it'll do for the time being until I find a bigger one...then I'll have 2......

Just need to hang it up now......

My back will thank me....
