Having a few cold weather runs now under my belt in my E Berlingo

Greetings from a fellow E-Berlingo owner!
Mine is the panel-van version, and the previous model - 2017, with only a 22.5kWh battery.
Also, at the moment it doesn't work, but I am hoping to fix it. I have just pulled the driveshafts out of the transmission, so that I can investigate what has happened to the motor-to-gearbox splined coupling.

What did I get for Christmas? Covid, that’s what! My wife went down with it first on the Saturday, the me on Christmas Eve. Crimbo was rather subdued there after. I hope you are both over the worst of it soon.

I can measure in metric to do woodwork and crude metalwork, but have to use imperial for anything precision. I can envisage thou's but .257mm ? means nothing to me, and I cannot even begin to convert.

Distance too. Miles I can guesstimate, but kilometres ? No.

When I was Secondary School in the early Seventies, I understood the CSE was for the less academic, and the GCE WAS an "O" level. GCSE came in later as a combination of the two ?
Maybe I wasn't listening as usual, thinking about more important things, like slow worms, whether I should go for drop, or cowhorn handlebars, would Monster Mash make the number one spot, and how long until going home time.

It makes you wonder with all this dilution of worthwhile STEM subjects globally how the hell we have managed to discover Higgs Bosun and developed automomous electric vehicles not to mention the little Covid vaccine thing .

I owned the same van for about 3 years. Decent van, but the range let it down, particularly in winter but for 90% of what I needed it was spot on.

They have a 3 year warranty on the van, 6 years on the drivetrain, and 8 years on the battery. You're just out on the drivetrain but it might still be worth contacting citreon in the hope of some good will depending how spendy it might get.

Yea but it's typical media hype...if a couple of diesel's fail to start we dont see headlines about fundamentally flawed diesel engines!

When I was a kid there were streets full of broken ICE cars whenever it snowed. The usual trade for a lift to school was a push start!

It's been cold in London...we're using our EV because it has remote defrost via the phone so no scraping away at the windscreen

I suppose I should have given some context.
If it is -35C here and I am on the interstate at 80mph with a 60mph wind.
That would give the car an effective effort of driving at 140mph.
Wind chill would about -70 or -80C.
I doubt I could go 100 miles.

No, they brought in CSEs for those that were unable to hack ‘O’ levels. GCSEs were adopted when ‘O’ level GCEs and CSEs were combined. The advent of comprehensives - where those that didn’t want to be at school dragged down those that had had a good learning ethos.

The downside of that era was kids were set at the age of 11 and some kids start to perform later than others.. Even in secondary school the third set did not move up at all and left school at 15 with no qualifications.

I don't agree, but even if so, that would have been the fault of the primary school. The problem with Comprehensive school is that everyone is brought down to the same level and nobody is able to fly, as they can in Grammar / Technical school.

Wasn't my experience either...I was a bit thick at age 11 so started secondary school near the bottom...finished at the top! I did put a lot of work in though!

CSE's round with the O levels when I was at school, it was a well documented fact GCSEs where easier than the O levels I took and yet they where supposed to be the same. ie. A GCSE grade 1 was supposed to be the same as a A O'level.

Supposed to be, grade 1 CSE was a C at o level apparently. I was predicted to get 4 o levels by the school. I have 8 grade C or above. French well…..thats another storey!
