Some right animals out there.I saw pictures the other day of someone who did 2 x 30 mins on track in the USA with a heavy, powerful rear drive car - started with front pads around 70%.
Finished with the pad material totally gone, and on one caliper, there was a hole melted through the backing plate and the piston was starting to be melted/worn down!
I have no idea how the brake fluid remained liquid enough to continue to operate that caliper well enough to do that! Or to not be noticeable as horrendous brake fade and not slowing down, heading to the scene of the accident!

That looks a lovely clean workshop. Freshly painted walls and floors by the looks!Cutting rotten exhaust nuts off a Truimph to save the studs.
Not the nicest of jobs but best way round it imho.
Saved all the studs and fitted stainless dome headed nuts when exhaust was refitted.

Well done MatOver two days, yes two goddam days of sheer mechanical hell, I finally finished my Pug 406 clutch change.
I'm really not a car mechanic, oh no, made some fine mistakes, but my guardian angel, the retired ex owner of the village Peugeot garage, helped me, or I would have dragged thé car out works garage, and torched it.
Thumbed it to work this morning, not done that in a while.

Only issue I'm having, one of the gear sélection linkages keeps popping off, but I'll find a solution, métal clip I suspect.
Yeah, I couldn't afford to pay a garage.Well done Matfew quid saved right there, and thats what its all about.
That was how I felt yesterday evening, I'd been struggling to get the gearbox back on for hours. And torched it !was that bad an ordeal .........
