While there, I dont like the look of intake hoses between them and the plenum, I would shorten them a bit to take out the kinking. Will not have anything to do with the current issue though (I think)

Not that it would cause your issue, I think anyway, but does the different length inlets do anything weird, especially if shorter than the original Ford application?

Yeah, but have you actually checked it since the rebuild, my duff fuse box was 6 months old and being a manufacturing defect also present when brand new.It is all rewired and new fusebox fitted as part of the restoration. An original Lucas fusebox is a source of never ending problems.
