How does the parking brake work on the bike?Machined some aluminium for a top for the parking brake on my bike.
I thought you were making village stocks.
It is a DCT, so no clutch lever although it does have a clutch, well two actually. You can not switch off and leave in gear so it has a parking brake if needed. How does the parking brake work on the bike?

I think sot may apply too?![]()
A mere amateur when it comes to that!
Made this last night . the rubber on my bike's gearchange lever split and was about to fall off. I have some rubber block so I turned a new one.

Very happy because rubber is the devil itself to turn.
it's usually finished by grinding from what i understandLooks good. I've never tried turning rubber (sounds difficult), but I've heard that it helps if you bung it in the freezer first. I'd guess that depends on the grade of rubber though.

Yes it would but I was in a hurryI don't suppose a TPU print would have been an option?
I keep seeing people printing things, taking several attempts, hours, days, to do so . . . and I keep thinking I could have fabricated/machined/hacksawed that in minutes . . .Yes it would but I was in a hurry![]()
It is kind of how I feel for the most part but recently a friend made a part for me that would have been impossible to make on my mill. Still unlikely I will get one, once metal 3D printers become a few hundred £'s then I will be having one although by that time I will likely be long deadI keep seeing people printing things, taking several attempts, hours, days, to do so . . . and I keep thinking I could have fabricated/machined/hacksawed that in minutes . . .
I see printers going relatively cheaply, I have a super duper CAD system that I know how to use, that will give me the correct file types . . . and it still doesn't make any sense to me to have one.
Maybe one day it will.
I keep thinking the same, just dont think ive the patience for learning the drawing software now though plus all the other frustrations that go with it!I keep seeing people printing things, taking several attempts, hours, days, to do so . . . and I keep thinking I could have fabricated/machined/hacksawed that in minutes . . .
