if you do you need to see a shrink and get councilling and have a fat wallet just make sure the socket is rcd -protected in the house db if not get an rcd socket

thats council interference at the best of times
basically trying to say inform us of everything that you do to your house alot of u still give the 2 finger salute at best of times

they have been trying for years to get companys to register with them as an elite list pay if you want to be number one that gets offered status trying to close the door on many workers out there sort of like the master builders list of approved companys

they have a list and you certainly pay through the nose for them

I couldnt be arsed with notifying or any of that, the work around is to have your outside socket on a plug, making it a fixed extension lead and wired with 1.5mm² flex.

Or fit it with red and black. You can replace the socket if the wiring was already there before the change.

B&G generally make good stuff but I dislike the cover/clips on our outside socket. Plus the sockets had a curved front - swapping a double usb version was a lot of effort, shaping the plastic to fit l. So get something else... But not Mk!

youtube suggests using a bit of sleeve to run the wire through , is this essential? i can only see it on massive rolls when i only need a foot or so

a bit of overflow pipe will do if your just drilling through the wall

but you dont need it

you want to drill the size of a copper pipe

2 ways to do it

7mm drill then a longer 7mm drill bit depends on your wall thickness then drill the hole wider with copper pipe size drill
or drill with the wider drill and use a long wide drill to drill through the wall then to opposite side find the small drill holl and drill from that side also saves on punch out when your drilling from inside

you need the first drill hole as a guide nothing worse than trying to use the long drill bit from the start

Not seen it myself, but this may be suggested due to PVC plasticiser migration from the cable insulation if you have polystyrene cavity wall insulation.
Otherwise, there is no need for a sleeve.
