Bathroom on first or ground floor?
Check inspection chamber outside
Try rodding up from chamber or flushing with a hose but if it's the loo make sure someone's watching inside to warn you if it's backing up
Try pushing a hosepipe down as the blockage could be further away than you think
Gurgling from shower drain sounds like as the water is going down from the bowl its pulling the water trap in the shower drain

check the main drain at manhole cover outside might be blocked or backing up

Is the problem one on ground floor and other upstairs?
We had similar sounding issues, downstairs toilet was backing up and very slow to drain. The backup was caused by water coming from upstairs that couldnt get out, so the bog level rose.
We had a tree root invade the manhole and go up our outlet. A poke with shovel and plenty of water cleared the problem.

Pour some liquid soap / shower gel down the sink. Follow up with the hottest water like from a kettle.
Saying that hair is the biggest blocker here. SWMBO and No.2 daughter have hair like Cousin It. Had the sink trap blocked with that. Then another time a cotton bud had gone down and loads of crud wrapped around it.

have you a vent stack sticking up outside house, if not might have the air admittance valve inside

for water todrain freely, the system needs to breath or let in air as the water runs down creating a vacuum

if upstairs and its piped over to the rain water gully this can also cause the issue if theres leaves in it

Indeed this is mine mid moving the upstairs ensuite WC. The mushroom shaped thing atop the grey pipe is the air admittance valve aka AAV or Durgo valve.
Ref gurgling, I've an anti syphon trap on my sink. No gurgling in the sink as the bath empties. Started as this but all a bit tight:

I have an old cess pool here. The "best" blockage I had was when a pink, kids tooth brush, got wedged across a clay pipe trap. It collected everything that could wrap around it! It took years to block up as we worked out when my teenage daughter probably flushed it as a toddler.
