I dont generally have an invading army ready to murder intruding , only those looking for five finger discount , light them up full beam and there responce is as ever to leg it . I am not about to start creeping around pretending I am some sort of military type , although poachers did put a.22 into the tree behind me as a warning a few years back ,brave souls that they were .

I chased a pair of do as you likeys off one night they had come back for the mower, having pinched the chainsaw two nights earlier. I wish I had a more powerful torch at the time so I could have done a description. I have an LED lenser now but might not be the range arther wants. Was half tempted to take the dog... the one at the time would have had them, as would the rottie I have now but I dont want a dead dog.

My mate won a torch in a raffle. I think he lit up the village one night showing us how powerful it was... (we are on the hill overlooking the village!)... I will find out what it was.

Speaking when youve walked up behind them seeing with a thermal is a good way to see folk run, or have a toilet moment. Couple of years ago I was out in the dark. Could see a large heat blob in a field right next to the boundary, down by the river. Couldn't make out what it was, till I was close enough to hear their sounds of love!

All I said was ”nice night for it”.

On a SAR training night years ago, nice summers night and we were doing a beach patrol. I was on the quad riding through the dunes and crested one to find a young couple going at it in the dip. Whatever the opposite of an aphrodisiac is, apparently blue lights is it

we went out with the dogs up near the moor once on a big field all i heard was a hiss going past me quite close someone with a .2mm rimfire with a silencer on it we legged it real fast . another time we were up near there with permission and i had my pop gun with me. about a mile away poachers were up in the woods shining there light i aimed about 40 yards off it and fired . you could hear the bullet cracking as it hit all the branches past them never saw there lamp after that

We have too many deer over here, many more dead on the side of the road
than taken every year during the very short "season".

It is interesting to note the burglary figures and compare here, the UK with there, the US. Burglary at night in quite a number of US towns is almost unheard of, it is a regular occurrence here in the UK. I wonder why that would be? Surely not the fact that in the US the likelihood of getting caught whilst robbing someone's house in the middle of the night will likely be accompanied by being shot and the remains being arrested. Compared with here which is usually the homeowner getting arrested.
