My memory is lacking... Ours was the same as the pic above. 6 wheel drive. It wasn't a crew cab. The big mercedes thing that replaced it was the crew cab... It was too big for narrow tracks and nowhere near as good as the old Pinzy...

Was to make a new prop shaft today, loaded the old one into the manual lathe so that I could clock the taper and get the taper attachement set. Just couldn't seem to get it, the clock was jumping about but the high and low points were always the same as I ran along. The shaft was fine so wasn't sure what the problem was. Decided to load a piece of stainless and do a trial taper. it had undulations all the way along just like the clock was showing.
Loaded into the CNC to test cut in that and as can be seen by the left hand side it was fine so now need to investigate the issue with the taper attachment.
Had to get the shaft done today so decided the CNC was the only way so I turned up an acetal bush for the rear of the spindle.
Bored out some soft jaws to 1.5"
Then programmed and turned the shaft and thread then into the Chiron to cut the keyway.
Prop test fitted and ready for it getting fitted on Monday.

Indeed. I've been looking forward to making the handle, but also knew it would be a pain.
Managed to use an end mill in the pillar drill to cut the angled recess to screw the bar into. Wasn't a great set up, but got it done.
Ball is off a morso squirrel wood burner.
I needed a 0-15psi pressure gauge with a M5 thread on it, and as these arn't available off the shelf I modified one with 1/8" bsp thread, and it should be a nice simple turning job, but how do you hold them? well they are held in the case by a couple of screws so it a case of making a fixture to hold it in a 4 jaw chuck
then you can clock it up
and then turning the the end down using a half centre for additional support
and threading the end, its been years since Ive used a tailstock die holder, this way works well enough for me, just using the body of a drill chuck to align the die.
and the finished pressure gauge in use, its on a Wilesco D6 steam engine, and Ive used it to replace the engine's whistle as Im going to a show for steam toys ans meccano later this months, and now I can explain and show how a steam engine works, as with the boilers for these engines have a large plastic disc so you can see the water level, but you can also see the water boiling, and as you can see the burner below you can see that water + fire = pressure and how the engine speed alters with a pressure increase or drop.
ohh and the flyer for the steam toy and meccano show.

If you put his postcode in the satnav it takes you to the end of a farm track not my neighbours entrance lane so Amazon drivers were untying the blue string, getting who knows how far along before common sense finally kicked in and they’d realise maybe this isn't the way And would have to reverse all the way back.
Since his attempt at a sign didn‘t survive I whipped this up in fusion 360, cut it out on the CNC* out of foamboard and dropped it round. Will it last any better? Who knows!

There will be a shelf 3" down from the top for cutting tools and tailstock tooling, and it will be clad in 2mm steel. 2mm is xcessive maybe, but its free.
Amazingly, somehow, it's all pretty much square, level, plumb, and not twisted!
However, I'm using 20mm box, so guess how much it's short by.
