I been waiting to make this point.

But what has been highlighted to me is.

50% of people will buy into this EV tech - and 50% of people won't.

You can see it from the thread on this forum - people will go for it with thier hard earned money and other's don't want it at any cost.

Some people will argue it is a good thing - others will argue it is not for them (and all of you have made some good points).

And there lieth the problem - you not gonna get acceptance from everybody for any Eco policy (good or bad).

They're pushing cycling here in the U.K. except the roads are so deliberately abysmal it's literally dangerous to cycle on many of them.

I am desperate to get out on my E-Bike again but the roads make it a very dodgy proposition.

I would have thought upwind would be far, far safer.

The owner has to also pay a monthly fee for having the card machine.

And plenty of other (compulsory) "benefits" fees too, Card machines are not free and certainly not cheap. Mine costs me quite a bit as my business is "high risk". I don't know how they work that out but I am not privvy to their secret formulas.

A local wee shop in a scheme here took removed its card machine. They now have a post office till beside the shop till, so if you want to use a card to pay then they use the post office till to process the transaction as a cash withdrawal and put the money into the shop till. They then get paid by the post office for providing a cash withdrawal service! No minimum spend.

Difficult to tell in the second clip, but was that bus plugged in and charging when the smoke first started billowing out?

Absolutely correct. Except that we are still building roads with blind bends, dips etc. And where we aren’t, we then plant trees to make sure someone gets killed there in 20 yrs or so...
I have made myself a promise - when I retire I will be out at night on my black motorbike, with a hammer and a bag of copper nails, each night, poisoning every tree that our useless effing councillors and road planners have planted along our A roads - kill each and every one...

Copper nails don't work and after the inserting the first few thousand it gets expensive , a small quiet battery powered lopping chain saw in likely to be your best bet and rub the stump cut with SBK stump killer.

Though acceptance numbers are increasing daily despite what the rags and doomers say . In 2015 we were an early PHEV user , less than 2300 EV's in the UK .

IIRC yesterday news lines mention it's now 3.4 million plus & growing . Remember ..... Rome wasn't built in a day .

We’ve had lpg/lng buses over here for a while.

Wood gas powered bus, lots were around after WW2. The wood gas generator gave about half the power of its usual tipple.

I have a couple of tonne of pine an an old trailer.......

And the origin of the fuel? I expect it is currently derived from fossil fuel? Maybe zero exhaust emissions but not exactly helping the planet, is it?

Only when there is a large surplus of green electricity will hydrogen production become sensible (if even then).

Aberdeen is surrounded by alternative power sources, all of which will no doubt be contributing. The North Sea and inner Moray Firth are full of wind turbines [to the extent that 'The Trump' complained they were spoiling the views from 'his' golf course], the hills are alive with turbines too so.....
