Cheap (but not too cheap) grease gun

Bought one of these a few years ago and went to use it today. Totally useless and the grease came out of every orifice except the nozzle

Any recommendations on a cheapish alternative that will work? Amazon throws this lot up (among thousands of others):

Depends on your idea of cheap but john Deere and caterpillar rebrand grease guns from mcnaught alemite and Lincoln but usually sell them at a third of the price.
I have an alemite with cat stamped on the handle bought new for £16. The same model direct from alemite was over £70 at the time.

It's not done much work, bought it over 15 years ago for maybe about £35, still works perfectly. Cheap ones have stayed the same price but good ones have got more expensive.

You have to pay decent money for a good grease gun, and I find the couplings hit and miss too.

I have got a Tecalamit (sp?) one that that I inherited from my father , and he has been gone since 1977, and it was old then. Still going strong. Also got one from a Ford Tractor dealership in the Eighties that I bought because I needed it for a job, again still going strong.

So I would try a tractor or plant dealership, for a genuine parts one, NOT one they have got out in showroom, which like as not be cheap Chinesium.

I bought a s/h Sealey airline grease gun for £7 a few years ago. Works really well, & makes the job of greasing the LDV's Kingpins a doddle instead of a chore.

Nice old ones at car boots/auto jumbles .
Less than a fiver a pop , mostly just out of grease .
Would appear that , if you can't get a grease cartridge to fit they must be fecked ?

I've not tried them personally, but I've heard them recommended - they supply the abnox wanner stuff as well, but I'd assume their cheap own brand guns would be at least serviceable, given the nature of their business.

I’ve got a draper one, quite a few years old now but it’s actually very decent. It all feels really solid, and the grease goes where it’s supposed to so I can’t really ask for much more!

I got it from a place I worked at, so can’t comment on price but most draper stuff is not on the expensive side - I’m not a huge fan of their tools but this has been ok. I would caveat this with the fact i got it about20 years ago so I don’t know if they are still decent.

I've go the draper at the top of the second screen shot in the initial post.

I bought it as my cheap gun was rubbish.

I don't use it in an industrial capacity, but I've certainly not found it to have all the irritations of my previous gun.

I always find the pistol grips hard work The other thing to look out for as in avoid is the type with a fine thread on the cartridge holder, after a while they become very easy to start cross threaded. Got one here somewhere with a coarse thread but unfortunately its got no makers name on it.

My brother has one of these, uses the screw on cartridges. Much less messy.
Quite fancy a cordless one but I only have 11 grease nipples to service, 9 on the Mini, which only does about 300 miles a year and 2 on the caravan hitch, so probably not necessary.
I just have a generic chineseium CK gun. It's OK but the coupler could do with being replaced - any recommendations for them?

Currently having a brain fart and cant remember the name of the company that does nothing else buy lube related gear. They stock high end grease guns, the ends cost more than a complete cheap grease gun.
