I don't think they used any acid, jetted it off then applied what he called a biocide which got rid of a lot of the blotches.

I have all the equipment they would of used as we do roof washing (moss removal) and driveways etc..washer i use is a 13hp gx390 mated to an interpump W202 via a reduction gearbox that can give 200 bar all day long. The solution we use is a sodium hypochlorite at 15/1

A nice clean drive, what would have taken me hours with my DIY pressure washer they took less than an hour with a professional one.

Daren't clean the separating wall between us and one of the neighbours .. My 150 bar machine simply rips out the poor quality extracted sea sand mortar , it even removed some of the sand facing finish on the bricks at a distance of 300 mm

What strength is the hypo before you dilute? i recently did my drive, with a splash of 15% in a watering can.. didnt bother to pressure wash, just used a yard brush... didnt do too bad at all

You can't really moan at £8 for that , I still havn't seen a car boot yet . I was planning on a look around one this morning but it's been peeing down since early doors . However I did acquire today


a new to me citizen eco drive promaster me old citizen has given 15+ years of service after being demoted from best . fishing on the bay of thieves last night put a bid and won it , even better it was 4.2 miles from home and better still I won it for £48 !

I've just got back from a couple of days in Dolgellau. One of the nice things about Dolgellau is that the route from home to Dolgellau goes very close to Stretton Antiques market. I was quite restrained this time and only spent £25:

I also picked up a £55 ebay purchase on the way home. I'm trying to do more woodwork with hand tools and, on the project I'm currently working on I need to drill some holes. I wouldn't consider it the end of the world to use my pillar drill: I'm not trying to use hand tools for philosophical reasons, I'm using them because I prefer the peace and quiet that comes with them. Given that drills aren't especially noisy, they don't put me off in the way that an electric router would. Having said that, it would be nice to make the holes with hand tools.

I've got a brace and I've got an eggbeater drill. They would almost certainly be fine for all the holes (and I'll probably use one of them for some of the holes on this project). However, I'd like a really clean finish and a square cut on the 22 mm slotted holes in the sides. It seems to me that the best way to achieve that would be to use a Forstner bit in a pillar drill.

With all that in mind, last week I spent £55 on ebay and on the way home from Dolgellau I collected this:

I really don't have space in the workshop for it, so it's going to have to live in the dining room and be carried out to the workshop when I want to use it, but thankfully it isn't too heavy. I do need to find a well-fitting chuck key for it as it didn't come with one.

we buy it at 15% which is the commercial limit jet it out as a foam and it has better cling properties. leave it for 30 mins and wash off

Brand new unused R Tech Mig 180 inverter welder. Came with 2x trolleys, a welding bench stainless steel, a new mid size hobbyweld rent free gas cylinder, reg & welding curtain.

It was a gumtree buy from a lady who bought it and then fell of a roof and dislocated both shoulders so can't use it anymore. £480 for all

A spray of hypochlorite at a 5-1 dilution would have done the same thing with no need to repoint the blocks afterwards!

Sure. I bought mine from here:

You'll need a surface grinder and mag chuck.

It's very easy to use as it has all the necessary angles built in. I bought the 5C version but there is an ER version if that is what you need. I have a box of b******ed end mills given to me for free from work and I can regrind one from completely kna****ed to dead sharp in probably less than 5 minutes. They look as good as new. Ends only of course, not the flutes. I've tried it with 2 flute slot drills, 3 and 4 flute end mills. It would work just as well with others. The only thing I can't do at present is cut a new gash (I think that's the term) as I need a miniature grinding disk, and I would like something (suggestions, please...?) to grind a new centre / hole in end mills that I need to regrind the ends off completely.

Thanks for reply. It looks as if I can utilise my vertical mill set at 90 degrees . Small mikron thing.

No.2 son visited us yesterday, and gave me his out of calibration by a Small Ants Testical Mic.

He decided to treat himself to a new one as this one varies by 5/10 th's of a thou at times, not good for Airbus work, happy days for me....

I very much doubt that, plus the pressure washer cleans out all the soil debri that the weeds grow from. Repointing is a simple bag of kiln dry sand brushed over, 20 mins tops.
