WP18 would be about right for it, a bit clumsier than a WP20 though - and of course both would need a torch cooler (if you don't have one - a litre/min at 30 - 50psi). WP18 are rated for 350A, WP20 for 200/250A. I must get a WP20 for mine, now i've got the cooler sorted out *again*, don't really go much over 150A!

I already have another ac/dc tig welder with a WP20, I wanted this unit to replace my Oxford 300 Welder for stick welding and cardon arc gouging.

I don't think a 220amp max 1 phase welder has the enough power in reserve for carbon arc gouging..........

If you could ID the hardwoods you could flog it to the woodturners on ebay. A mate was telling me about the crazy prices for a small block of some exotic hardwoods.

At an educated guess those new wood off cuts will only be certified sustainable timbers , not much of it is good for turning as I've discovered .

Cast Iron Stove, complete. But rusty.

I was going to burn the rust off today. but rain has stopped that.

Have the same , the top chimney rusted away on wet wintery night , door has gone the same way , so has the internal grate grid


Now I have an all in one plasma cutter I might make a new floor grid out of rebar or use a cut to size gas stove pan grid . When I have the time I might also try tig welding some stainless steels from old diswashers to make the chimney .

A simple slide hammer dent puller £7.11from Ali Express that uses hot melt glue on shaped pads to give a scratch free pull on many different sized dents 9 18 pads in thekit .... might be able to 3D print replacements if I change the orientation of the prints and go for 100n % infills.

I reversed into a mini plastic wheeled skip bin corner .. missed all the taller bins as I could see them in all the mirrors and mistook the reversing sounder for being close to them .... Such is life .

I acquired some expensive Quality Street wrappers;

Aka Tiffen colour filters, specifically 25 red, 47 blue and 58 green, so that I can get through black and white film three times as quickly doing this;




Which I'm quite happy with for a first attempt. I wish I'd stopped down a little so the giraffe's head is in focus. I think the biggest issue with it is caused bad scanning, so in an effort to scan film better, today I acquired this;


Canon FD macro bellows. With an E mount adapter, hopefully I'll be able to find an extension and lens combination which makes a 35mm frame fill an APS-C sensor, with better sharpness towards the edges.

I've had the pair at the top for a couple of years, and they seem solid and perform really well - so I thought I would get a spare pair and try the offset style too.

They seem to have changed the handle design on the new ones, but the blades still seem the same. The offset has slightly serrated blade, but they still cut well. Recommended if you are after a pair of decent but relatively affordable scissors.

I don't think they used any acid, jetted it off then applied what he called a biocide which got rid of a lot of the blotches.
