I made a reception area for a local "gym" late last year and we used hot rolled sheet for the worktops (1.6mm over MDF core), millscale finish left on....a bit of an experiment, it was understood it will pick up a few rusty spots, stains, scratches etc.
It was coated with everbrite protectaclear but unfortunately with all the crazy temperature swings we've had this winter they are suffering with rust bloom, client not complaining but I'm not happy.
Obviously Everbrite on its own isn't enough, despite the manufacturers advice and hefty price tag.
I was thinking of cleaning them up a bit, putting another few coats of everbrite on then covering with some paint protection film....do we think this would work?
Any other ideas? I know that clear coat on raw steel doesn't inhibit the brown stuff, that's why I didn't use it!
